Board
Ellen Carabello - President
I joined EWB because I wanted to see what humanitarian engineering work could look like and wanted to take part in hands on engineering work that could make an impact. I have grown and learned so much from being part of the Civil 3D and communications team and have loved working closely with our community to help provide them the clean water access they need. I'm excited to help expand the EWB mission!
Ayande Joseph - President
I love playing and watching soccer (s/o Tottenham Hotspurs!) I enjoy watching anything marvel or star wars related! My favorite part about EWB is the ability to apply the engineering concepts I have learned in previous classes while making a tangible impact on the world! (the traveling part is nice too)
Kulani Temesgen - Project Lead
My name is Kulani Temesgen and I am a current junior in Adams studying Mech E! I joined EWB because I wanted to learn how to utilize my engineering skills to create an impact. I've loved my time in the club and all the people I've met, and I'm excited to see what we can bring next year!
Madison Gates - Project Lead
I joined EWB because I wanted to apply the engineering skills I learned in the classroom to real, impactful humanitarian work.
Lizbeth Ibarra - Project Lead
I joined EWB because I wanted to work with other students who also felt that engineering should be used to create positive change in other people's lives. EWB has taught me so much, including the importance of working alongside community members when creating solutions. When I’m not in class I love to run, dance, and try new recipes.
Victoria Zambrano - Project Lead, Director of Programming
Hi! I’m Victoria Zambrano, a sophomore in Leverett House studying Mechanical Engineering on the pre-med track! I joined Engineers Without Borders to gain real-world engineering experience while making a meaningful, lasting impact in communities that need it most. Through EWB, I’ve had the opportunity to dive into areas of engineering I wouldn’t normally encounter in the classroom—like civil, environmental, water systems and more—and to collaborate with some truly brilliant and inspiring people. When I'm not studying, I love playing volleyball, reading, crocheting, shooting skeet and trap, and hunting down the best coffee/book shops around!
Nathan Araya - Director of Programming
Hello! My name is Nathan, and I'm a freshman in Greenough Hall (soon to be Quincy House!) planning to study Bioengineering and Statistics. I joined Engineers Without Borders because I believe the best use of the technical skills I’m learning is to make a tangible, positive impact on communities around the world. Outside of EWB, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, playing or watching sports like basketball and football, and listening to/making music.
Aeden Marcus - Director of Fundraising
Aeden joined to learn how to design and build clean water systems!
Giancarla Burgos - Director of Fundraising
Hiii!! I'm one of the Co-Directors for Fundraising and I'm so excited work together this upcoming cycle :D I joined EWB to help make an impact and deliver basic human needs to under-resourced communities. While there might not be a perfect solution, we can always try our best to reduce inequality around the world. When I'm not loosing my breath trying to climb up the stairs to Pierce or battling the urge to rest my eyes in class, I can be found panicking over psets, reading a good manhwa, or texting my friends something like "literally spiraling rn" because what. is. happening.
Carlos Gonzalez - Director of Fundraising
What’s going on everyone! My name is Carlos Gonzalez and I’m a rising Sophomore planning to pursue MechE! In my free time, you can catch me listening to music (Fuerza Regida, Ariel Camacho, & Junior H) or working out! I joined EWB to make a real impact on the several humanitarian projects we’ve got going on, so I can’t wait take them even further!
Ian Toyota - Director of Social Outreach
My name is Ian, and I am from Kenya!!! One of the projects we are doing this semester is based in Western Kenya and that was my biggest motivation to join EWB. I am so looking forward to the next two semester and to making change with the new board.
Ella McRitchie - Director of Social Outreach
Hi!! My names Ella and I’m a rising sophomore in Eliot next year studying biomedical engineering. I joined EWB because I believe that engineering is a powerful tool that should be made approachable and accessible to all skill levels. Outside of school, I enjoy competing on the track and field team and cooking with my girlfriend.
Erica Lin - Director of Social Media
I joined EWB because my interests in environmental justice and human rights work align with EWB's mission! I'm excited to work with EWB to create real change and make resources accessible. Outside of EWB, I love to run and enjoy the outdoors!
Aryenne Ysabelle Rodrigo - Director of Social Media
I joined EWB because I wanted to gain engineering experience. I love that the work we do goes beyond the classroom and helps real people. Outside of EWB, you’ll usually find me taking care of my indoor plants, teaching telescope classes at the Science Center, eating sweet treats, and dancing with my roommates.
